Aaron Sihota is a Primary Care Pharmacist and Clinical Associate Professor at the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Aaron works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary group of specialist physicians and nurses to educate, monitor, and optimize patients with inflammatory skin and joint diseases.

Aaron is a co-chair for the new Canadian Acne Guidelines (www.acneguidelines.com) as well as the co-creator of a Dermatology elective course at the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences for the E2P Doctor of Pharmacy program which explores dermatological conditions from the unique lens of collaborative practice with Faculty that include dermatologists as well as rheumatologists and dermatology residents. Aaron has authored textbook chapters and academic publications as well as multiple medical education programs that have been delivered across North America as well as Asia.

Behind the 2024 Acne Guidelines: Takeaways and Recommended Implementation Strategies

The presentation will take the form of three “mini-modules” of approximately eight minutes each, followed by six minutes of questions from delegates. The modules are:

  1. Key takeaways from the recent AAD acne guidelines;
  2. Current thinking and anticipated directions of the forthcoming Canadian Acne guidelines; and,
  3. “What’s Next in Acne Therapy”: new therapies and emerging considerations for patient care.

Learning Objectives:

  1. To educate dermatologists and healthcare professionals regarding the 2024 Acne
  2. Vulgaris Guidelines, and to discuss implementing these guidelines in the Canadian healthcare setting
