Prof. Martin Steinhoff is Professor and Chairman of the Dept. of Dermatology & Venereology as well as Director of the HMC Translational Research Institute, Hamad Medical Corporation at Qatar University and Weill Cornell University-Qatar, as well as Professorial Chair of Dermatology, UCD Charles Institute, UCD, Dublin, Ireland.
He is a trained board certified dermatologist, venerologist, allergist and phlebologist, and human biologist (PhD). His research aims at understanding the interaction between the immune and nervous system in skin diseases in a translational fashion. He published more than 200 peer reviews articles (H index 60), has received numerous prestigious research awards, received more than 36 Mio Euro in grant funding, and is board member of the European Society for Dermatology Research (ESDR). He is also author of the chapter “inflammation” in Rook’s textbook of dermatology and works closely with various charities to improve a public understanding of skin diseases.
