The New Era of High-Risk CSCC: Connecting Evidence, Teams, and Patients
Management of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is evolving as emerging evidence expands treatment options across the disease spectrum. This symposium will place the C-POST findings in clinical context, examining how high-risk disease is defined and how adjuvant cemiplimab may influence patient care following surgery and radiation therapy. Faculty will review key clinical considerations from diagnosis, through the complete treatment journey, while highlighting the value of timely multidisciplinary coordination and referral. The discussion will also address patient considerations such as shared decision-making, patient preferences, preparation for multimodal treatment and potential side effects, psychosocial support, surveillance, and long-term follow-up.
- Understand the role of the multidisciplinary team in high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) management, including best practices for biopsy selection, imaging, referrals, and treatment planning.
- Review the C-POST data and its implications for identifying and managing patients with high-risk cSCC.
- Apply patient-centered approaches to education, psychological preparedness, and long-term follow-up for patients with high-risk cSCC undergoing multimodal treatment.
