Dr. Hamzavi went to college and medical school at the University of Michigan and did his dermatology training at Wayne State University and the University of British Columbia. He splits his time between private practice at Hamzavi Dermatology/Dermatology Specialists and the multicultural dermatology center at Henry Ford Hospital. He has a focus on vitiligo, photodermatology, hidradenits suppurativa and is one of the most published physicians in the world on those topics.He has over 300 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.. He is a co-founder and former board chair at the Global Vitiligo foundation and former President of the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation and a board member of the Michigan Dermatologic Society.
